Sowing Seeds for the Kingdom of God.
REVEREND GORDON WILLIAMS, APRIL 2018

Jesus’ encourages us to come follow Him, and He'll make us "fisher's of men" (Mk. 1:17). He also invites every believer to join Him in the "harvest for souls!" He said, "the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into the harvest” (Lk. 10:2).

Jesus uses the analogy of the "harvest" to help us to understand how to "cultivate" people for the Kingdom of God. In His “Parable of the Sower" (Matt. 13:18-23), He tells us what happens when we "sow a seed" and share the "word of the Kingdom" with others. We plant, grow and gather people for the Kingdom of God - prepare them for their Salvation.

Jesus describes four different types of soil that a seed can fall upon:

1. "When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside."
Along the path is the first type of soil that represents the people who don't understand the word of the Kingdom.

2. "But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles."
On rocky ground is the second type that represents people who hear the word until they experience tribulation or persecution; then they fall away.

3. "Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful."
Amongst the thorns is the third type where people fall away because their delight in the riches of this world is greater.

4. "But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
On Good Soil is the fourth who are the people who hear the word, understand it, and bear its fruit; and who can cultivate many more people for the Kingdom of God.

The most effective harvest "methodology" is written in the Book of Revelation - the "word of our testimonies." “And they conquered him (devil-Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death” (Rev. 12:11). Overcoming Satan can come with a price - the risk of losing your life or being persecuted for the sake of the Gospel.

It is exciting to participate in the harvest with Jesus. People are "born again" and experience their "Day of Salvation" (2 Cor. 6:2) - they are cleansed, forgiven of their sin, joyful; "clothed in the garments and jewels of His righteousness."

"I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels."
(Isaiah 61:10)

"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” (Heb 8:12) "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Ps. 103:12)

Just as exhilarating as Salvation, is the healing from illness and disease; or receiving the infilling or Baptism of the Holy Spirit as on the Day of Pentecost. Also using the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in ministry; exercising our authority over the devil/Satan by casting out demons from those who are possessed (Matt. 8:28-34,Lk. 8:26-37). Jesus tells us that we will do His works, and even greater works (meaning more works) than He did when He was on the earth:

"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father" (Jn. 14:12).

Yet all these things can be marked futile without God's unsurpassable "promise of eternal life" - our reservation in the New Jerusalem for eternity with Him; recorded and written in the Book of Life (Rev. 3:5). The Apostle Paul reveals God's everlasting promise, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philip. 4:19). "I am come (Jesus) that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John. 10:10).

“PRAYING IN TONGUES TAKES AWAY HEART PAIN” (1 COR. 14:4)
At a meeting in Sault Ste Marie, a man and his wife, both in their 60’s came for prayer. He explained, "I have a pain in my heart that comes and goes. I've had tests done by my doctor in the hospital, but he couldn’t find anything wrong."

I asked him, “Have you ever had prayer to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?” “Yes, some years ago," he said, "but I only prayed in tongues once, and it was when I received it."

The Holy Spirit was involved in creation (Gen. 1:2) and raised Jesus from the dead (Jn. 16:7). He causes a "holy fermentation" to change us on the inside; getting us to cooperate with Jesus.

I outlined to him what can happen when we don't used our spiritual gift of tongues. The Holy Spirit inside us can cause some unsettling, physical symptoms (holy fermentation) that He uses to get our attention and prompt us to use our tongues language. When tongues are used, this allows the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, but we must first cooperate with him and use it daily.

Paul wrote to Timothy because he was not cooperating with the Holy Spirit. His lack of cooperation caused him to be fearful and experience problems. Paul told Timothy, “to rekindle (stir up) the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands, for God has not given us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power and love and self-control” (2 Tim. 1:6–7).

We prayed together and I asked the man to "stir up" his gift of speaking in tongues. He cooperated by speaking in tongues as to be heard. Later he excitedly said, “The pain is gone! The pain is gone!" We rejoiced together, however, I warned him, “Just like Timothy, you must pray in your tongues daily, or you will risk the chance of it happening again!" He agreed to continue to use his tongues daily.

“THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF THE LITTLE BLUE BOX” (1 COR. 14:1)
After a meeting in Lethbridge, Alberta, I was sitting in the Pastor’s office when I heard a knock on the door. I got up and opened it, and before me stood a woman with her 6 year old daughter. I recognized them from the previous service since they both had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (with the evidence of speaking in tongues).

The woman said, “My daughter would like to give you a special little gift for your ministry. Would that be alright?” I looked down at the little girl who appeared very shy and nervous, yet her little face and eyes just radiated with the Holy Spirit. I replied with a smile, “That would be very nice! Thank you.”

The little girl feebly stretched out her right hand with her prized procession. It was a small blue box with a kleenex wrapped around it. I gently unwrapped it and discovered a pack of “Popeye candy sticks” with a picture of Popeye riding a skate board on it. "Look inside!" she said in anticipation.

As I looked inside, 7 candy sticks and a beautiful shiny new Canadian looney (one dollar coin) popped out. “This is nicest gift that I've ever received!" I told her.

Moved by this little girl's kind gesture, I reached down to give her a hug, and she whispered in my ear, “Don’t forget to hug my mummy too!” I laughed, and hugged her mother also for bringing her precious little girl to see me.

To this day, the little blue box sits on my desk shelf as a reminder of what Jesus said: “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it” (Lk. 18:16-17).

“MAN CLAIMS  HE LOST HIS GIFT OF TONGUES” (ROM. 11:29)
At the Harbour Church in North Bay, Ontario, the Pastor (a man in his mid 40’s) said, “I’ve lost my tongues language which I received when I was baptized with the Holy Spirit.” I explained, “No, this is not true! The gifts and calling of God are without repentance” (Rom. 11:29).

This means that when a person receives the Holy Spirit, they cannot lose their gift of speaking in tongues. "God does not take back His spiritual gifts, (including the gift of speaking in national tongues); and nor does the Holy Spirit ever leave us," I assured him. We prayed together and he 'stirred up" his gift of tongues; speaking out loud with confidence.

"Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Tim. 1: 6-7).

THE HOLY SPIRIT MADE HIM TRI-LINGUAL” (ACTS 2: 5–12)
At a Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship (FGBMFI) Breakfast Meeting in Cobourg, Ontario, a 50 year old man said, “I'm saved but I’ve never been baptized with the Holy Spirit with the "signs following" (Mk. 16:17–18).

“Well today is the day you are going to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.” I reassured him. I noticed he had an accent when he spoke, so I asked him, "What other language do you speak besides English?" He replied, “I’m from Yugoslavia, and I speak Croatian."

I explained to him that as I pray with him for the Baptism, he was not to speak in either English or Croatian. This would allow the Holy Spirit to give him his new tongues language.

He asked, “How do I do that?” I explained that with his cooperation, the Holy Spirit would give him a new language as he gave him his voice (Mk. 16:17). "Then you will be trilingual" I said with a smile!

He laughed, and then we prayed. He cooperated and began to speak in new tongues language as the Holy Spirit enabled him. “I'm doing it!" he rejoiced, "I'm doing it!" He spoke out in his tongues (Acts 2:4), and was now trilingual! Amen.

“HE WAS HEALED SO HE COULD PLAY SOCCER" (MATT. 7:7)
At a meeting in Quito, Ecuador, a 17 year old, came to the altar. He had received Salvation and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit from one of our meetings several nights before. He returned to receive healing prayer for his right ankle, and for his foot that he had injured while praying soccer.

We prayed asking Jesus to renew his body and to heal his ankle and foot. Within minutes, he fell to the floor praying in his tongues language. A short time later he stood up and started jumping up and down. He told me he wanted to see if he had received his miracle healing!

"Hey Pastor! Look!" he said excitedly, "Jesus healed my foot and ankle! Praise the Lord! I will be able play soccer tonight!” His jumping caught everyone's attention! There was no doubt that this young man had received a miracle healing! Amen! “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you whole" (Luke 17:17-19).

“NOW HE COULD SPEAK WITHOUT ANY DIFFICULTIES” (GAL. 5:1)
At the Prayer Palace in Toronto, Ontario, a man about 7 feet tall and weighing close to 300 pounds came to the altar for prayer. He said, "I have a problem speaking to people, particularly when I'm doing business, and when I'm talking to strangers. Can you please pray for me?"

I asked the man, “Have you received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues yet?” “No, I have not!” he answered in bewilderment; wondering how that would help him.

I explained that by cooperating with the Holy Spirit, and praying in tongues, the Holy Spirit would be able to help him with his English and speaking to others. He listened attentively, then agreed to cooperate by giving his voice over to the Holy Spirit while we prayed.

With the laying on of hands, I prayed for him for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Within minutes he uttered his first few words in his new tongues language. It then became evident that he was going to fall down (under the power of the Holy Spirit).

Being such a large man, I immediately called over to one of the altar assistants nearby to come and help me. With some assistance, he gently fell back onto the floor (Is. 28:13–14 ). By this time he was speaking in his tongues more fluently (Mk. 16:17–18). Praise the Lord!

Later he approached me and was so grateful. “Thanks to the Holy Spirit, I now have the confidence to speak to other people when I need to. Thank you Jesus!” he rejoiced.

If you, your family and/or friends would like to receive either Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, a Gift of the Holy Spirit, healing, deliverance, etc., I invite you come to one of our house meetings or contact me.

Yours in Jesus,

Messages to Gordon -
Praise Reports and Testimonies:

Dear Gordon,

We hope you might remember us as it's been quite a few years! We are the couple that you married in an outdoor wedding on our farm 26 years ago this month.

At that time we became a blended family of five, and within the next few years, the Lord blessed our union with two more children, Annamarie and Andrew.

Today these two youngest are now attending Western University. They love the Lord Jesus and have grown ever stronger in their faith, despite the anti-Christian agenda mixed in with today's education system.

Many years prior to our marriage and even before we had met, the Lord used you to play a significant spiritual role in both of our lives, with Deanna being baptized by the Holy Spirit under your ministry in November of 1979 in rural New Brunswick, and James receiving the the baptism of the Holy Spirit after you spoke at a Full Gospel Business Men's breakfast in London, Ontario, in March of 1986.

Just recently, we discovered the very message you had given that morning 31 years ago at the men's breakfast, on a cassette tape that had been tucked away among other "keepsakes."

Our family sat down to listen to it and we were all so blessed and inspired by your message, that we have since played it to several other Christian friends as well.

Our children are very interested in meeting you, and as a family we plan to attend one of your house meetings this coming summer.

Dear Gordon,

My name is Koshy and I am from a small state called Kerala, in India but currently in Saudi Arabia. I got your contact information from the internet.

I write to you seeking a blessing from the Lord. I am very much interested in being Baptized in the Holy Spirit and as well as receiving the Gifts of the Spirit. May I know, sir, if you could help me in any way as I am in much need ?

I would much appreciate and love to hear from you. Thank you for taking your time to read my mail.

Dear Reverend Williams,

I have been reading your book "Like a Rushing Mighty Wind" off and on for the past 9 years. I'm not sure why I have kept it by my side and have been dipping into it every now and again. I'm not an evangelical or baptist. It was given to me as a gift.

I am not skeptical about the real powers of the Holy Spirit; I know they work with us everyday! But not always as dramatically at once.

I have had someone demonstrate to me the tonques that they say they now speak in, and frankly, I deeply felt that this was not a tongue of the Holy Spirit.

I do not deny that people are given tongues! In any case, I know that I would get greater insight into the work of the Holy Spirit of God if I came out to hear you speak. I am not looking to speak in tongues, I am looking for insight and a connection to God and Christ.

I have reached a personal awakening that needs to be strengthened so that I can help others around me.

I would very much like to come out to one of your prayer meetings.

Dear Brother Williams,

I am a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. I came to Christ around September 2017. I had many demons come out of me. Halleluyah.

Jesus has healed many through me by His Holy Spirit. I still have problems with demons and now it is almost non stop, since I cleaned a house and cast them out of someone, I can't seem to stay above.

I am attacked in my mind, imagination and body. I really can't get them to go on my own. A friend of mine recommended you to me.

I hope and I pray we can get together and get these things out. All I want to do is serve the Lord and do His will, but it is so hard when I am constantly attacked and vexed.

I thank you for obeying the Father. God bless you!

Hello Gord:

I was just now lying on my bed praising the Lord; telling Him that I was not going to take my eyes off of Him. He brought back the memory of the time I was privileged to be your driver many years ago in the 1980's.

Early one foggy Saturday morning, after you had spoken at the Full Gospel Business Men's Banquet in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, you fell asleep in the passengers seat as I drove you back to Regina. I had to get you to back in time to catch your 10:30 a.m. flight to Toronto.

I was trying my best to keep as quiet as possible and could only see about a car length ahead due to the fog. I felt the Lord's presence with us as I was doing a lot of praying and praising to Him.

After hours driving, the Lord led me to look to the left. All of a sudden, I saw a clear blue sky as the fog unexpectedly lifted briefly - displaying a summer field and then it closed up again.

As I continued driving, the sky kept getting brighter until the sun shone through the fog. It felt as though the car was rising up toward the sun. It got so bright it woke you up.

I told you what had happened and then you went back to sleep. With the Lord's blessing, and all the Angels around us, I got you to the Airport just in time as you had to run to catch your flight! Praise the Lord.

That was the meeting in which the retired RCMP member was healed. He had planned to commit suicide because he had been diagnosed with incurable cancer. He attended the meeting as a last favour to his wife.

He was the owner of the Ronald McDonalds franchise in Swift Current at that time. He is now active in an overseas ministry.

After my recalling all of this, I had to get on the computer and see if you were still around. God is so good - He led me directly to your Web Site! Amen!

Yours in Christ,

R. C. Johnston
