The Second Touch of Prayer and He was Healed. Ask and You will Receive

"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,..." (1 Cor. 12:7-9)

At a meeting in St Johns, New Brunswick, a 50 year old man responded to a “word of knowledge” I spoke out while in a service: “There is a man here who has been experiencing deterioration of his eyes. If you will come forward for prayer, you will be healed.”

A man responded to the message, and came to me at the altar to claim his healing (Matt. 21:22). “I have blurred vision in both my eyes, and they are deteriorating. Please pray for me,” he said earnestly.

In agreement, we laid hands on him (my prayer team and I), first praying for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and then for his eyes to be healed (James 5:14-15). The man received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, praising God in his new tongues language.

Fifteen minutes later, he returned to me and said in excitement, "The blurring in my eyes was almost gone!” Remembering when Jesus prayed for the blind man a second time, I prayed for him again (Mk. 8:22-25), and this time, his eyes were completely healed! We rejoiced together, laughing and praising Jesus for his miracle healing!

"They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly." (Mark 8:22-25)

When we are sick, we need to put away our pride, and ask Jesus for our healing. "You do not have, because you do not ask" (James 4:3). Jesus is "willing and able" (Eph. 3:20-21) to "forgive all our sins and heal our diseases" (Ps. 103:3) whether we think we deserve it or not! Too many people die prematurely because they do not ask!

Also, when we receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, we can participate in healing ministry "by laying hands on the sick, they will be healed" (Mk. 16:17:18). When we are obedient and use Jesus' Ministry Gifts in faith, we will experience God's miracles! Amen!

"Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.…" (Jn. 14:12-13)
