REVEREND GORDON WILLIAMS, MARCH 2014

Rev. Gordon Williams, Evangelist

On a cool Sunday evening in August, Marie was driving to a meeting at Carrick Camp in Mildmay Ontario. The camp was celebrating one hundred and twenty two years of Christian ministry. She said, "It began to rain, when I noticed a rainbow forming in the south east sky. It looked pretty and I noticed the ends. The thought occurred to me, "Has anybody ever seen the end of the rainbow? Well there is a saying about a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. As I drove on, I noticed that the rainbow was coming closer. It had my complete attention.

I turned onto a side road and I saw it on my left side. An amazing thing had happened! The rainbow seemed to shrink and come towards me! As I neared Carrick Camp property, close to the forest in which it was located, I saw the right end of the rainbow. I saw all the colours coming out of the long grass and tall trees at the edge of the camp. I could see green and yellow colours further down, about a hundred yards away.

I put on the windshield wipers so I could see the edge of the bush along with the yellow and green colours. Suddenly I was distracted by what was happening on my car's windshield. I was amazed at this phenomenon! It wasn't rain, but the colours were dancing on the outside of my windshield! They even were on the car's hood, the grassy knoll and on the bush's edge!

When I say dancing, it was vertical movement not horizontal! I thought of it as the fluid movement of the northern lights. It was like sparkling diamonds in the air on the grass and about the car. I could see the colour red in the space to the right of the car. It was blending with yellow and there was yellow and green further to the left! It was then at that moment I understood. I was in the rainbow!. What excitement! What euphoria! What an experience! What a blessing!"

Marie phoned to tell me about her wonderful experience. But she said, "There was no gold at the end of the rainbow!” I explained to her, "But there was gold at the end of the rainbow! You didn't notice it because you are the gold at the end of the rainbow!

The rainbow is God’s covenant, a promise that there will never be another flood to kill all the people on the earth (Gen. 9: 11). But it is also a reminder of His "new covenant” (1 Cor. 11:25) where Jesus paid at a great cost for our sin on the cross of Calvary. The cost of our sin is $31,649,032,000.00 which is $31 plus billion each (Matt. 18:24).  Paul reminds us, "You have been bought with a price” (1 Cor. 6:20). "For we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God” (2 Cor. 4:7).

Jesus reminds Marie and all of us who have received him that we are valued at $3,164,903.20 each (Matt. 25:14-30). The Holy Spirit is our down payment for our place in heaven (Eph. 1:13–14). If you haven’t received your treasure: salvation (Jn. 3: 3, 5, 7), the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4), the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6–8; 1 Cor. 12:8–10) and/or the signs following (Mk. 16:17-18), please call me or come to one of our meetings and you will not be disappointed!

Yours in Jesus,

Rev. Gordon Williams
