"THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GUARANTEE FOR CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE” (MK. 10:42-45)
A Pastor once asked me, "Would you preach about Christian Marriage?” I agreed, and preached from the Bible scripture, Ephesians 5:21–33. I directed people's attention to how Paul’s words had been mistranslated when he said, "Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Really what he was saying in Greek was, "I want you to volunteer to minister to each other out of your reverence for Christ." The next verse is mistranslated also: "Wives be subject to your husbands, as to the Lord.” What Paul really wrote in Greek is that our wives are the personal property of the Lord’s, just as the husband is also.
Jesus wants husbands and wives who have been Saved and Baptized with the Holy Spirit to volunteer to minister to one another. Jesus tells us that we are not to be like the Gentiles whose rulers lord it over them. "But it shall not be so among you; but whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and who ever would be first among you must be slave of all” (Mk. 10:43– 44). Husbands and wives are to be like Jesus. "For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mk. 10:45). In marriage, to be like Jesus, we have to volunteer to minister and serve one another. But this is only possible when both husband and wife have received Salvation and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Amongst the many people who came for prayer were six couples who were not married, and who had been living together. The first couple had AIDS and had a daughter, and they were not sure whether they wanted to be married. I prayed with them for healing of AIDs and they both repented and forgave each another. They received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. I prayed with the second couple who had a baby girl; the third couple who were in their 60’s; the fourth couple who had a baby boy; the fifth couple who had a baby and a little boy; and the sixth couple who were in their mid-60’s. All twelve had repented and were Baptized with the Holy Spirit and spoke out in tongues. Their hearts were changed, and just after I prayed for each couple, I was asked, "Where can we get married?” I pointed to their Pastor and said, "He will be glad to marry you.” The Pastor was in awe and said, "I have never had this experience before where six couples had asked to be married at the end of a service!”
Gordon's book, "THE FORGOTTEN KEY TO CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE" is about learning God's key to a successful marriage. Learn to divorce-proof your marriage, and use effective tools for building a happy marriage. It explains why the divorce rate in the church is the same as in secular society, and what to do about it. PRAISE REPORT: "GORDON IS FEELING STRONGER EVERY DAY!"
When Jesus encountered the ten lepers on his way to Jerusalem, all ten asked to be healed. All ten obeyed Jesus' command to go show themselves to the priests. As the lepers went to the priests, they were healed. However, only one returned to thank Jesus. That seemed to surprise Him, "Were not all ten cleansed?" Jesus asked. "Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner? And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.'" (Lk. 17:11-19)
We are to give thanks to Jesus in all circumstances, for this is God's will for us in Christ Jesus (Ps. 69:30). In this way, Gordon "give thanks with a grateful heart" (1 Thess. 5:18) to Jesus for his healing after he fell and broke his right hip this past December. He is getting stronger and more confident each day, and is walking with a cane as opposed to a walker. Gordon is determined and faithful to continue to fulfil the ministry God has called unto him. He also thanks all of you, his ministry partners, for your prayers, kind words and support. Please continue to pray for Gordon for his complete healing, for the GWEA ministry, and that God will be glorified! Both Gordon and Ruth are very grateful for you, your faithfulness and your prayers.
If you need prayer for family, friends, work, business, financial, healing, spiritual, church, etc., please email your prayer requests or by posting to our "Facebook Prayer Group Page".
When Jesus has met your needs, please let us know so we can praise Him along with you and "give thanks with a grateful heart!” We invite you to send in your praise reports and testimonies in a "Thank You Jesus Report." This way many others can be encouraged and be ministered to as well (Rev 12:11). Email your praise reports online through our web page. Jesus still does, "signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his own will” (Heb. 2:4). He wants to supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philip. 4:19).
"HELP GORDON TO HARVEST PEOPLE FOR JESUS” (MATT. 9:38)
Spring is just around the corner, and the farmer's are preparing to plant their crops. They are eager to see their seeds grow so that they can be harvested in due season. Jesus said to His disciples, "Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest?’ I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see how the fields are already white for harvest. He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together" (Jn. 4:35–36). Jesus saw what most people couldn't see - the great number of people who are ready and waiting for Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, healing and deliverance. He sees all the people who are ready to be harvested into the Kingdom of Heaven. When our eyes are opened by the Holy Spirit, we too can see those who are ready. They have the "hunger and thirst for righteousness satisfied” (Matt. 5:6). Jesus tells us that "the harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few” (Matt. 9:27). Paul tells us that, "Today is the Day of Salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2).
Gordon invites you to help him accomplish the ministry of harvesting people in Canada, the United States, and all around the world. Please pray for Gordon, and that his ministry will be fulfilled. We ask that you pray and ask Jesus what you can do to help Gordon achieve this great work.
"THE PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILETH MUCH (JAS. 5:16)"
A letter came in the mail recently and read: "Dear Gordon: Please forgive me for being late sending in my tithe. I have been very busy on and off the farm doing work I could not do several years ago. When I have a hard job to do, all I have to do is ask Jesus to give me strength and let me work pain free. When I do this, I can do hard labour all day long! I hope and pray you are recovering well. Yours sincerely, David." When we are in a right relationship (righteous) with Jesus, He hears our prayers and answers them (Phil. 4:19). Paul encourages us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). "God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work" (2 Cor. 9:8).
"ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN YOU!" (MATT. 7:7)
A praise report/prayer request was recently posted on our GWEA Facebook Prayer Page: "Dear Prayer Group: I want to give thanks for an amazing answer to prayer. I am dealing with multiple sclerosis and I was startled regularly by any little noises, such as the telephone or someone entering the room, etc. It went on all day and almost every day, where I would be so weakened by these startles. I have noticed for the past week that the startles are light and almost nonexistent. I know it is the Lord who hears your prayers and is healing me because I having been dealing with this ailment for almost 2 years now. Also the bladder infection is gone too! I want to thank all of you for your prayers and to "Praise the Lord for his Goodness!"
Also I know there are a lot of prayer requests, and I didn't want to be self focused and ask for more, but my husband said that I should. I also have been dealing with torn biceps and an injured wrist for years. I have to wear straps on them and even then, I have to be careful not to make the injuries worse. This makes everyday activities very difficult as I can lift very little. It makes my housework and everything very tedious and painful. If the Lord would heal me of these injuries it would be life changing. I have gone to physio but it only helps a little. Thank you for being there and being available to ask for prayer. I am very grateful for your support and presence! God bless you all! Thank you again precious people of God." (Elizabeth A. B.)
