When we receive the Holy spirit, we are receiving "the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead."
"If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through His Spirit which dwells in you. So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh or if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live" (Romans 8:11-13)
We have to be careful not to measure the experience of being baptized with the Holy Spirit with any experience that we have ever had before - because it's not like anything we've ever experienced. The proof is not in the emotions we may or may not have, but in the activities and passions that begin to characterize our lives: things like telling others about Jesus, evidence of ministry gifts beginning to flow through us, a passion for helping people in need and much more.
"...they dragged Jason and some of the brethren before the city authorities, crying, "These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also..." (Acts 17:6).
As we become accustomed to the presence of the Holy Spirit inside us, we will begin to feel differently about a lot of things. This is because the Holy spirit goes into the heart, (the control centre of our bodies) and begins the transition or "metamorphosis."
"Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you many prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect" (Romans 12:2).
