"Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw tongues like flames of a fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them" (Acts 2:2-4).
The Book of Acts shows us that there is no one day of the week or month, that anybody cannot receive Salvation and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit moves upon large meetings: 3,000 people (Acts 2:41), whole churches (Acts 8:17), one person (Acts 9:7), a household (Acts 10:44), and 12 people (Acts 19: 5–6).
Sometimes people receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit alone while others require the laying on of hands by a Christian who has been given that ministry. (Acts 19:6)
The proof of having received the Holy Spirit is always the same: the Signs (Mk.16:17–18).
To have complete assurance, believers require both components of being "born again" (Jn. 3:3, 5, 7), baptized in water and the Holy Spirit.
"John the Baptist proclaimed, 'After me will come One more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but He [Jesus] will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.' (Mark 1:7-8)
