Parable of the Geese Who Would Not Fly
REVEREND GORDON WILLIAMS, JANUARY 2023

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023!!

Once again we can look forward to another exciting year of people receiving Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, healing and deliverance; and another year filled with God’s favour as "He supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philip 4:19).

And even more exciting is that when we are guided by the Holy Spirit, we can do even “greater works” (Jn. 14:12–14) than Jesus did. This is His promise to us when we receive the "signs following:" we can cast out demons, speak in new languages (tongues), be protected from poisonous snakes and lay hands on the sick so that they will recover (Mk. 16:17–20).

Even young children and senior citizens can do ministry! As young as three years old, or as old as ninety – there is no limits to a person's age! Once we become “Born again of Water and the (Holy) Spirit" (Jn. 3:5) we are able to do even "greater works," meaning more of the same ministry that Jesus did!

You need to remind yourself that YOU are the one, the real Christian, to whom Jesus speaks to when He said: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

In other words, we are all on "Jesus’ team," and every time we witness, pray for Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, for healing, or for someone's needs, we are just one step closer to winning them over for God's Kingdom. And when they do receive, they too are given reservations in heaven, and the keys to the New Jerusalem (Jn. 3:16).

Sadly there are only a few people on Jesus' team who are willing to witness, which is problematic. "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few" (Matt. 9:37) says the Bible.

I will use the analogy of the “Parable of the Geese Who Would Not Fly" to point out why it is important to share your testimony with others:

A flock of geese once lived together in a barnyard. Once a week, they gathered together in a corner to listen to their preacher goose give a sermon on the wonders of being a goose. The preaching goose would remind them of all their forefathers, who would mount on their wings, and fly the trackless wastes of the skies to their destinies. He spoke to them of the goodness of their creator, who had given the geese the urge to migrate and their wings to fly.

And, as the goose spoke, the others would nod their heads in agreement, clap their wings, and rejoice in all the wonderful things the preacher goose had to say. But the one thing they did not do - they didn't fly! After the gathering was over, they would go back to their grazing, and eat 'till their bellies were full, for their barnyard was a safe haven, it was secure.

The geese in this parable are like many of the Christians today, who gather together in their own barnyard churches to hear their preacher geese (pastors) speak of the goodness of our Creator – Jesus, the one who gives the miraculous “signs, wonders, miracles and Gifts of the Holy Spirit" (Heb. 2:4).

Many people after their church services, similar to the geese who did not fly, return to their homes without saying a word to others about what Jesus had done for them. The Bible tells us to "go out into the highways and byways and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled" (Lk. 14:23).

We need to share about all the great things that Jesus has done for us every chance we get! "I tell you, now is the time of God's favour, now is the Day of Salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2).

Are you a Christian Goose? Are you witnessing about what Jesus has done for you? If not, then you are missing out on the daily guidance from the Holy Spirit, and “the unspeakable joy of the Lord” (Neh. 8:10; Gal. 5:22) which is our strength.

If you are a Christian Goose, and want to rededicate your life to Jesus, come to one of our meetings for prayer or contact us. If you have a family member, loved one, and/or a friend, who has not yet received Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, or need prayer or a miracle in your life, please contact us

If you need prayer, guidance or encouragement to hear the "Voice of the Holy Spirit", please contact us. "He who has an ear, let Him hear what the Holy Spirit says to the church!"

Yours in Jesus Christ,

"SPIRIT-LED DAYS" - DAY BY DAY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT" is one of the most inspirational, detailed and theologically studies on the Holy Spirit. Using a daily devotional format, the reader is led step-by-step, day-by-day, into a study of what the entire scriptures reveal about the person of the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever been asked, "What is the most expensive Christmas Gift that you've ever received?” I remember the first time I was asked that question by someone. It came across like a trick question - like a greedy person who wanted to compare the value of their gift to mine....
Your Spiritual Gifts are waiting for you, and are lying under Jesus’ Christmas tree that is shaped in the form of a "Cross on a Hill" called Calvary. Don't delay, come now and unwrap Jesus' Gifts of the Holy Spirit today...
Christians today continue to struggle with the Holy Spirit. Many resist the idea of anyone having to receive, speak or pray in a God-given Holy Spirit language (known as "tongues") as part of God's Salvation, even though Jesus commanded each one of us to do so (Jn. 3:5; Acts 1:4; Lk 24:49).
"Tongues" can be any one of the 7,000 or more languages that are either spoken today or have been spoken in the past. "Tongues" is also one of the 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit along with the Gift of "Interpretation" of Languages...
Halloween and "All Saints Eve" is a yearly reminder to Christians of Jesus' authority and power. When Christians became the majority of the population, they renamed or replaced the other religions' special days with holy days and Christian names.
For instance, Halloween, (which originally was called "Holy Evening"), replaced several pagan, non-Christian holy days. As a result, the other religions (whose gods were really demons) were put aside and quickly forgotten. Apostle Paul confirms this when he wrote, "... I imply that what pagans sacrifice...
The Fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are prophecy, service, teaching, exhortation, giving, aid, mercy (Rom. 12:6–8); the word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, various kinds of tongues languages, and the interpretation of tongues (languages) as outlined in 1st Corinthians, Chapter 12, verses 8 to 10...
