"Ministry Message" for October 2017

Halloween, All Saints Eve and the Great Tribulation

October is a reminder to all Christians of Jesus' sovereignty over the heavens and the earth; and those who have received His Salvation and the "Baptism of the Holy Spirit," are living proof of Jesus' promise - (the evidence of) His authority and equipped to do ministry (Mk. 16:17–18).

When Christians became the majority of the population, they renamed or replaced the other religions' special days with holy days and Christian names.

For instance, Halloween, (originally called "Holy Evening"), replaced several pagan, non-Christian holy days.

As a result, the other religions (whose gods were really demons) were put aside and quickly forgotten. Apostle Paul confirms this when he wrote, "... I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God (1 Cor. 10:20)...

"Ministry Report" for October 2017

Veterinary and one on our Pastors, Brent McGlaughlin wrote: "A new client phoned me desperate to have their sick duck examined. They had searched for a veterinary to look at their pet bird, but sadly couldn’t find one. I called her and she was very thankful that I was willing to come to see the duck.

I examined the bird and it showed signs of an "upper respiratory viral infection." If it persisted, the disease could be fatal. Previously they had self-medicated the duck based on advice they found on the internet from “Dr. Google.” Their results were ineffective. I suspected that there was little I could do conventionally to alleviate the duck of its symptoms.

However, being a Spirit-filled Christian as well as Veterinarian, I knew that traditional medicine could offer only so much, and so I brought my case to Dr. Jesus, as I have done many times before. I asked the owners if I could pray for their duck to be healed. They didn't object.

First, I prayed out loud in english and then in my spiritual (tongues) language. I asked Jesus to heal the duck and to impart wisdom and comfort to the distressed couple...

Most people who read the New Testament are amazed at Jesus' ministry of His “signs, wonders and miracles.” They are even more astonished when they find out that His first disciples also did the same kind of ministry (Mk. 16:20).

And even more incredible, is when we truly understand that Jesus wants every one of us to be able to do His "signs, wonders and miracles" as well. Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater than these will he do, because I go to the Father” (Jn. 14:12).

I remember as a new Christian, it was beyond my own thinking that I could ever do the same works/ministry as Jesus. No doubt you probably had similar thoughts. But to clarify "by greater works," He does not mean different works (1 Cor. 4:6), but more of the same works: “the signs, wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his own will..." (Heb. 2:4).

Jesus tells us that after we receive forgiveness for our sin (Salvation) and the authentic Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), we too can do the same ministry as He did. There is no waiting period, and once we are equipped, we are ready to minister under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Gordon continues to do the "greater works of Jesus" and receives invitations from all over Canada, the United States and other countries. Because of your faithfulness to financially contribute to our ministry, he does not charge fees to these churches or ministries that invite him, regardless of their size. Like the Apostle Paul, Gordon is led by the Holy Spirit, and asks for a love offering gift to allow him to continue to accept invitations anywhere in the world.

All offerings and gifts are income tax deductible. Income tax receipts are sent out during February 2018. Throughout 2017, help us to increase the harvest of people of all ages into the Kingdom of God (Jn. 4:35).

Please pray and continue to be a “cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7), asking Jesus how you can contribute.
