How can I have my Personal "Day of Pentecost?"
Christians need to receive the full Salvation package to live an exciting and victorious life as God intended. God sent his son, Jesus Christ so that our sins would be forgiven and that we can have a personal relationship with him through Jesus. (John 3:16)
But, before Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, He advised his disciples, "I will not leave you as orphans..." (John 14:16-19) "Do not leave this place until the comforter (Holy Spirit) has come. I will send him to you. He will guide into all truth and righteousness." (Luke 24:49). "And while they were gathered together, Jesus commanded them: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift the Father promised, which you have heard Me discuss. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 1:4-5).
And when the day of Pentecost came, the disciples waited in the upper room in Jerusalem for the promise of the father, the Holy Spirit. The sound of a "mighty rushing wind" and "tongues of fire" came and sat upon each one of the disciples. Instantly they became "filled with the Holy Spirit" (Baptism of the Holy Spirit) and began speaking in other national languages (tongues), a language they had not learned before as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4)
Jesus told his disciples to "go out into all the world and preach the Gospel for he who believes and is baptised (in the Holy Spirit**) will be saved. And these signs and wonders will follow: they will cast out demons, lay hands on the sick and they will recover, they will be protected from deadly poison and they will speak in tongues." (Mark 16:14-18)
Jesus intended each one of us just like His first disciples to do ministry. When "clothed with the Holy Spirit" as the bible says, or Baptised in the Holy Spirit, we can do ministry far beyond our own expectations. (John 14:12-14)
In Apostle Paul's ministry, he came across a group of men that where baptised with water**, but had not heard of the Holy Spirit yet. He told them they needed to be baptised into the name of Jesus Christ, meaning Jesus' baptism. So he laid hands on them, prayed and they began to "speak in tongues and prophesy". (Acts 19:3-7)
Like this group of men who didn't know about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, we too can receive our personal Day of Pentecost so that we can be guided by the Holy Spirit each day and fulfil the plan that God has for our lives! Contact us so that we can pray with you!
**[This was John the Baptist's ministry, to baptize people with water for repentance, and for the forgiveness of sins. But he said, "There is one who is coming who is much greater that I, who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire!" This person he referred to was Jesus. (Luke 3:16)]
