REVEREND GORDON WILLIAMS

Rev. Gordon Williams, Evangelist

"WE ARE ALL ADOPTED INTO GOD’S FAMILY” (GAL. 4: 4 – 7)

At the Camp near Kirkland Lake, ON, I was approached by a 19 year old girl who had been adopted when she was a baby. She needed counselling but I noticed that people who were on the Camp Staff were trying their best to avoid her. She had been told to stay away from the evangelists and speakers and not to bother any of us. She asked me, "Have you complained about me?” I told her that I had not done so. I sat down with her and we talked. She was a Christian who needed help. She had felt abandoned by her mother because she had been adopted out as a baby. All of us Christians are adopted into the family of God (1 Jn. 3:1) when we receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit & speak in tongues (Gal. 4: 5 -7). Would you like to be adopted into God’s family?” She agreed and we prayed and she received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit & began speaking in tongues” (Acts 2: 4).She exclaimed, "It’s wonderful to be in God’s Family!”

"WHEN IN TROUBLE - PRAY” (MATT. 21; 22)

I was invited to do meetings at a Christian Family Camp located a few miles from Melfort, Sk. After the first service where we saw one young man receive salvation and he with more than 20 more received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Also, 2 people received healing: for a back injury and severe headaches. After the service I borrowed a pick-up truck so I could drive into Melfort to shop for some things that I needed. While there, I went into the Dairy Queen Restaurant for something to eat. When I came out and got into the truck, I couldn’t get it to start. The key went in alright but I couldn’t turn it. I fiddled with it, turned the light on but it wouldn’t start. I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to help me get it started. Finally, a man came out of the restaurant, obviously to help. He said, "I think that you’re in the wrong truck. That’s my truck!” He laughed! His truck was almost identical to the one that I was driving. I laughed too! I explained that it wasn’t my truck and that I had just borrowed it. And, of course, I invited him to the Camp Meeting.

"CANCELLED HIS CHIROPRACTOR’S APPOINTMENT” (1 PET. 2: 24)

At a meeting in Estevan, SK, the man playing the drums in the music team, left his drums during the ministry time and came for prayer. He explained, "Í would like to have healing for my bad back?” So, I laid hands on his back and asked him to pray along with me with his tongues language as we asked Jesus to heal his back. The next night, he came to me and handed me the appointment card for a chiropractor. He said, "I cancelled this appointment this morning because my back was healed.” With a big grin on his face, he suggested, "Perhaps somebody else would like to use it! Praise the Lord for His goodness.”

"GOD IS NOT A VENTRILOQUIST” (ACTS 2: 4)

At New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, Brantford, ON where the Sr. Pastor is Rev. John Tweedie at the end of a service, a young man in his 20’s was standing waiting to talk with me. I asked him, if he would like prayer for something. He said, "I need everything God has for me.” I asked him,"Have you received Jesus Christ as you Saviour yet?” He answered, "Yes!” I asked him, "Have you been Baptized with the Holy Spirit yet?” He said, "I don’t know.” Pointing to his friends, he said, "We were just debating that question here.” So, I asked him to pray with me. He agreed. I asked Jesus to do whatever was necessary so he would be filled with the Holy Spirit”. As I prayed with him, immediately he began to pray in tongues. Surprised, he said, "I’m doing it myself!” "Of course you are! Tongues is always under your control. The Holy Spirit does not over-power you and force you or anybody to say something they don’t want to say. It is a Gift (1 Cor. 12: 12) for you to use in developing a relationship with the Holy Spirit. God is not a ventriloquist!

"FOR FREEDOM CHRIST HAS SET US FREE” (GAL. 5: 1)

At King Street Pentecostal Church, Oshawa, there were several people who had what I call the "Vineyard Shakes” who came to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and set free from what they had picked up at the Vineyard church (Toronto Airport, Fresh Fire) in Toronto. As I prayed for them, first I commanded the evil spirits which were causing the shaking to leave each one and receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and each in turn began to speak in their tongues languages (Mk. 16: 17; Acts 2: 4). Later, a woman came to ask me about what she had experienced. "You apparently thought that there was something wrong with the shaking that I am experiencing?” "Yes”, I explained to her that the Holy Spirit gives us "self-control” (Gal. 5: 23). She had received and evil spirit which took away her self-control. The Holy Spirit may cause us to fall down so we can receive peace, self-control, (Gal. 5: 22 – 23), "power, love and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1: 6 -7) equipping us to do ministry. I pointed out the people who were laying on the floor in peace with no shaking and praying quietly in their new Holy Spirit languages. She told me, "I cannot stop this shaking since it started.” So, I cast the evil spirit away from her and sent it to the Abyss (Lk. 8: 31). She prayed with me for self-control and received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in her tongues language and fell to the floor in peace.

"JESUS SPEAKS TO US BY THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT” (1 COR. 12: 10)

A man in his mid-40’s explained, "I believe that I need to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit so I can be a better Christian.” We prayed and he began to speak in his new tongues language (Acts 19: 6). The Holy Spirit gave me the interpretation of his new language: "I called you into ministry 15 years ago and you have been running away from Me ever since. It is time to stop running and get yourself prepared to serve Me in full-time ministry.” He thought that one of the pastors had told me about him. I said, "Nobody told me anything about you. That was a word for you from Jesus Who called you into ministry. Did He call you into ministry?” Tears came into his eyes as he said, "Yes! It is true!”

"GORDON INVITES YOU TO GO FINDING LOST COINS” (LK. 15: 3 - 7)

When Gordon was the Senior Pastor at St. Paul’s Church in Brampton, ON, his associate Pastor, Rev. Bruce Besley met with a man who had walked in off the street. He explained that his life had fallen apart, lost his job, was in a hopeless state and didn’t know what to do. He was walking by the church and for some reason that he could not understand, the thought that maybe, just maybe, he could find some help. Bruce recognised that he needed salvation. He explained that he was like a lost coin and that Jesus had been looking for him and that was the reason why he was having problems and why he came into the church. He suggested that he needed to let Jesus forgive his sin so the Holy Spirit could show him God’s Plan for his life. The man agreed and he prayed with him so Jesus could give him a fresh start in life. They prayed and the man was very surprised to know that now God was going to look after him. Then Bruce took him out for lunch. When they were on their way back to the church, they crossed a parking lot. The man stopped and bent over and picked up a silver quarter (25 cents) coin. He exclaimed, "I just found a lost coin! This was like me. Jesus found me,just like I was a lost coin! In Jesus’ eyes we were lost coins, just like he shared in His "Parable of the Lost Coin” where the woman lit a lamp, and swept her house and seeks diligently until she found it. Then, she calls together her friends and neighbours saying, "Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost.” Just so, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” If you would like to be the cause of great joy in heaven, join with Gordon to go finding "lost coins” – people who need Jesus to be their Saviour & Lord.

"THEY WERE ALL FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT” (ACTS 2: 4)

At a meeting on Manitoulin Island, a woman told me, "I can never receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit because I’m a total failure because none of my family are Christians.” I said, "They are all responsible for themselves.” She was trying to do God’s work for Him. She prayed asking the Lord to forgive her for trying to do the Holy Spirit’s work. She was baptized with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues (Mk. 16: 17).

"JESUS IS OUR GOOD NEXT- DOOR NEIGHBOUR” (LK. 11: 5 – 13)

Jesus wants us to know that He is our next-door neighbour who is always available to help us. He is like the man who goes to his neighbour at midnight and asks to borrow 3 loaves of bread because of unexpected company. In spite of inconvenient demands for help, He is always ready to help us. He said, "I am the bread of life (Jn. 6: 48). Simply, "Ask and it will be given to you”. He will give you everything we need including the Holy Spirit. "He who keeps Israel will never slumber (inactive) or sleep” (Ps. 121: 4). Simply put: He is available 24 hours a day to help us.
