How do I do Spiritual Warfare?
GWEA Monthly Message, November 2015
REVEREND GORDON WILLIAMS
November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada (May 25 was Memorial Day in the USA) in which our countries remember those people who died in serving our countries in the armed forces.

However, there is a spiritual "continuing" war that goes on in the world today. The apostle Paul reminded us of this when he wrote, “For though we live in the world (flesh) we are not carrying on a worldly (fleshly) war, for the weapons of our warfare are not worldly (fleshly) but have divine (God’s) power to destroy strongholds” (2 Cor. 10:3–4).

Jesus described the “power” when He said, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

Our weapons are provided by the Holy Spirit when we receive Salvation and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Jn. 3:3,5,7) with the proof of the “Signs Following” (Mk. 16:17–18) and the fifteen Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:6–8; 1 Cor. 12:8–10). Signs, Wonders and Miracles are the visible "victory results" of real spiritual warfare (Heb. 2:4). If there are none, then a church has been defeated by the enemy.

A man wrote, from Battleford SK, after receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues (Acts 2: 4). “I personally want to thank you for interceding on my behalf. I was suffering from a war injury, a fractured pelvis, the sacroiliac which created pain when walking and bending down. A small voice said “Go to the Crusade.” “As you prayed, my hip was healed along with the sacroiliac and arthritis.” This is an example of destroying strongholds. This is “Spiritual Warfare!”

In Ecuador, we prayed with a woman who was possessed with a demon and she received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the proof of speaking in tongues. Later, she came to me with a drawing of the wolf-like demon which left her body. This is “Spiritual Warfare!”

I prayed with a young man on the telephone to receive forgiveness, Salvation and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. To much to his surprise, he began to speak in tongues. This is “Spiritual Warfare!” When Spirit-Baptized Christians use their Gifts of the Holy Spirit in ministry to meet people’s needs, they are doing “Spiritual Warfare”.

Perhaps our greatest weapon is to share our personal testimony (Rev. 12:14) with other people so they can become “New Creations” (2 Cor. 5:17).

If you would like to receive Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, healing and/or any of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, I invite you come to one of our house meetings or to contact me to request prayer and guidance.
